In May 2016, Guria rescued 7 bonded labours, of Chhattisgarh state, from the district of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh.

The UNICEF team from Belgium along with the UNICEF UP state office visited the Guria's children centre in the red light area of varanasi and saw the efforts to empower children. The team also visited the government after care home for girls where Guria is placed as a mentor by the government to replicate our efforts.

A national record : 61 brothels seized worth over INR 120 carores($ 182 million). GURIA simultaneously wrote an application to the district administration and filed a PIL in the honourable high court to rescue minor trafficked girls from the Allahabad red light area in north india. On the request of the district administration GURIA officially submitted the details of recce operation, rescue map, spy cam video clips, photographs, plan of action, criminal histories of traffickers, identified brothels, list of traffickers etc which was then again submitted by the administration to the honourable chief justice of high court. Fourteen team leaders of GURIA lead the police teams for rescue and 12 lady counselors counseled the victims. On the 14th of May, 2015, Guria rescued two minor girls from Jaunpur district who were trafficked to Azamgarh district (in Uttar Pradesh). These girls narrowly avoided being a part of the lowest estimated figure of 1.2 million minors that have been forced into sex slavery in India.  Please share this blog with friends and family to help us fight this injustice.
